TELEGRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS
Reciprocity Alaska Seeking
Agreement For a Divorce
Toronto.-The Eoard of Trade
have passeH a resolution condemning reciprocity.
Winnipeg.—There was a most
wSnusual scene in the Ligislature
/ at the close of the speech of
Premier Roblin, who unalterably
opposed reciprocity. When he
had finished his speech the galleries broke into prolonged and
enthuiastic cheers.
Winnipeg, —The Board of Trade
has passed a resolution condemning the riciprocity agreement.
Winnipeg. — The Legislature
yesterday by a straight party
vote of 26 to 12, defeated the
resolution by Morrice, leader of
the opposition approving the reciprocity a.rreement and passed
an amend' tnt thereto advocating Imper ! preference and free
trade within the Empire. At
the close of the vote the National
anthem was sung followed by
cheers.
T. C. Clark of the 17-mile
ranch, Ashcroft road, paid a flying visit to Lillooet, arriving on
Wednesday morning and returning home the same evening.
Some of our highly esteemed
politicians are credited with having declared that the reciprocity
agreement will be accepted, but
we believe that it will meet with
complete annihilation.
The band of Indians for the
Australian expedition left last
Sunday for the coast with Joe
DeShields in charge. It is regretted that more time was not
given for the selection, as a far
better selection could have been
made.
Bill Wilkinson who has been
trapping at Spruce lake between
Tyaughton and Gunn creek has
come down with his furry catch.
He reports about four feet of
snow at his camp at Spruce lake,
and about eighteen feet at Tyaughton.
Cordova, Alaska. - Extensive
mass meetings are being held
in various towns to adopt resolutions asking Congress to divorce
Alaska so that it can annex itself

leader of the opposition, announced the intention of introducing a bill to amend the Constitution of the House of Lords.
This is regarded as the Unionists
answer to Asquith's threat to
force the veto bill.
Peace To Reign
St. Petersburg. -All danger of
an outbreak between Russia and
China has at present been avoided, as the latter's answer to six
points of Russia's note regarding
the treaty of 1881, is wholly satisfactory. The remaining two
points can be easily adjusted.
