"The Mammoth (Join .lining Company," A Splendid Showing. Tbe appearence of the Sleinwiuder mine at Fairview is improving daily, as a result of lit.- lively pii-liinj- ahead of development work. A raise is being made from the 200-foot level at a point about 170 feet west from the foot of the main working shaft, and the ore which is coming out of this raise is said to be some of the best yet encountered in the mine, as it will easily average from $S to s&> a ton and that too for the whole width of the vein, whieh at this point is some 'A) feet wide. Apart from this raise a crosscut drift is being run to cut the south vein .11 the property, and this drift too is being cut on the _W- foot level. The end of the drift should now Ik* Hearing the vein, and when it is entered it is expected a fine laxly of gre will be encountered. The amount of development in the mine can be easily conceived when it i.s suited that tho management expect to have iu the course of aliout two months some 100.- 000 tons of ore blocked out and ready for .sloping, an amount of free milling ore uot showing it may lie conjectured in any other similar property today in the province. At this mine it is expected that a 40 or 00 stamp mill will soon lie erected, and as soon as this starts running, if only tbe ore will mill up to the expectations of the management or tii a ton, the Stemwiniler will become one of the recognised dividend paying properties of BritishColuinhia.
