of the assessment roll,
Mr. John Campbell, of lhe firm of

Messrs. Manley k Aveiill's inleiesl,
have renewed conneclion wilh Midway, and are rendering a valued service, whicli il is to lie hoped is a lucrative one to themselves.

A report is generally current, the
authenticity of which, however, we
are nol in a position lo verify, that an
extremely sad event occurred at Kereineos ou Monday lasl, when, during a
litnf temporary depression, Mr. Thomas
Daley of Ihal. place committed the
rash net of taking; his life. It would
seem that for some time past, llie deceased had not been in the Lest of
health, he having found it necessary
to visit lhe const in search of medical
treatment, The deceased was very
generally known throughout the
province, as his long sojourn iu the
country entitled him to he classed
among theolil-liiners.
Before settling at Kereineos, Mr.
Daley saw much set vi-*e during the
construction of (he 0. P. U, on the
Onderdonk contract, upon the eoinplel ion of which he moved to Kereineos
and faking up land upon the .Siinilkaineen river, set ahout lo hiiild himself
up a home, which he most effectually
did, as the eslate lie leaves behind him
has few superiors iu the,neighborhood'
The deceased leaves a widow and
fuur children, whose sorrow will he
shared, and who, in their hereaveuient,
will receive the sympathy of a large
circle of friends and acquaintances.
