"Contains much of British Columbian interest. The original letter-book was purchased by the editor from a previous owner. Copies of all but ninety letters are in the Archives of the H.B.C. but the remaining ninety are unique copies as far as is known. Appendices: A. Names [biographical dictionary of people mentioned] - B. Forts [mentioned. Historical notes.] - C. Vessels [involved. Historical notes] - Technique of the Hudson's Bay Company in the Columbia district.- Notes [on points in the various letters]"-- Strathern, G. M., & Edwards, M. H. (1970).
