"Sabin has a lengthy note on the history of printing and records that the edition consisted of at least 2,500 copies, some of which were destroyed by fire in the City of Washington. One of the earliest accounts of the country from the Lake of the Woods to the Pacific Ocean, taken in part from mss. of Catholic missionaries. This is the 5th ed., enlarged and with a new title, of his book on Upper Canada first published with title 'A geographical view of the province of Upper Canada and promiscuous remarks upon the government ...'
