"Plates found bound variously. Lada-Mocarski gives a lengthy note on the subject. He considers that the 62d. plate by Bentolozzi after Webber, representing the death of Cook, is an extra plate not present in many copies. The long delayed official account of the voyage "edited, emended, added to and drastically tidied up by Canon Douglas":- H. Parry in the Canadian Historical Review, vo1.49, no.I, March, 1968, P.77. The first edition sold out in three days, ref. Holmes. J,C. Beaglehole gives a detailed history of the publication and its sources in his edition of the Journals (no.I25), vol.3, pt.I, p.cxcviii-cciv.
