Description

"The reports for 1893/94-1909 include the Archives under the heading, 'Northwest collection.' The Provincial Archives became separate from the Provincial Library in 1908, and published reports separately in 1910 and 1913. The report for 1921 was entitled Report of the Provincial Library and Archives. Reports were printed for the years 1893/94, 1895, 1896,1897, 1898, 1899-1900, 1900-1901, 1902-1903, 1907, 1909, 1910, 1913, with 1921 being a joint report. Most reports are also in the Clerk's papers, and those for 1910, 1913 and 1921 are also in the Sessional papers of British Columbia. See especially following reports which contain material not published elsewhere: 1900-1901, Appendix 4: 'Titles of works relating to the history and discovery of British Columbia and the North-west portion of America'; 1910, Appendix A: 'Papers relating to Vancouver Island,' 'Papers relating to the colony of British Columbia,' and 'Papers relating to the province of British Columbia.' Appendix B contains important letters, transcripts and miscellaneous papers. 1913, section 2: 'Papers relating to the colonization of Vancouver Island,' with letters by Lieut. Adam Dundas, Sir George Simpson, Charles Enderby, James E. Fitzgerald, W. Colquhoun Grant, Right Rev. Modeste Demers, James Douglas and David Thompson.
