THOS. R, CUSACK PRESS, VICTORIA /2.S
THE VERNON HOTEL.
THE above hotel is centrally located and is a Thorough Commercial Hotel.
It affords the very best of accommodation and the best of attention is
given to its patrons. About nine-tenths of the Commercial men coming to
Victoria make The Vernon their headquarters, as the rates are reasonable and
the rooms (and sample rooms) are as good as any hotel in the city. fc, „ t'W

THE DALLAS HOTEL.
' I 'HE DALLAS HOTEL, as seen from cut, stands apart from any other building,
with a magnificent and uninterrupted view over the Straits of Juan De Fuca to
the Olympic mountains, in Washington. Within two minutes walk are the Ocean docks
and nearer still is the car-line terminus. Just in front of the hotel are picturesque rocks,
while close at hand is a delightful cove which makes an ideal place for bathing.
Cuisine and general appointments are of the highest order. The rates at the above
hotel are $3.00 per day and upwards, with special terms for those making prolonged visits. LIST OF DALLAS HOTEL PATRONS

T EADING up from the ground floor a flue

same system prevails on the top floor.

Dining Room, Dallas Hotel
ON the left of the Hall is the Dining-room, which
is without doubt the brightest and most comfortable in Victoria. Here, while the appetite is
tempted with first-class cooking, the eye is charmed by the beautiful view. THE Dallas Hotel is laid out in the most comfortable style, having on the ground floor a
splendid reception room, which has just been refurnished in the most luxurious manner; the hotel
office, dining, billiard and bar-rooms. The second
and third floors are arranged both as suites with
bath-rooms attached, and as single rooms. The entire hotel has been thoroughly renovated since last
season and is guaranteed to give the utmost satisfaction to its patrons.
A Bedroom Suite, Dallas Hotel
'T'HE Bedroom accommodation in this hotel
has been reduced to a fine art. For a very
modest sum it is possible to obtain a charming suite
consisting of bed-room, bath-room and sitting-room.
These suites all have a front aspect, that is to say
they command the best views which the hotel can
afford. It will be possible to obtain some idea of the
comfort which may be enjoyed by the occupation of
one of these suites from a glance at the accompanying photographs.
Main Parlor
THIS is a cosy little room hidden away at the
top of the main staircase, where the visitor
may be sure of a quiet read ; from this room also
there is a beautiful view over the sea.

Upper Hall and Parlor
HERE we have a peep at the hall which lies
at the head of the first flight of stairs. To
the left may be seen the opening to the parlor.
This is oneof the most comfortable spots in the hotel. ROTUNDA OF KING EDWARD HOTEL.
T^HE KING EDWARD HOTEL is now open to the public and fills a long-felt
A want of an ideal stopping place for the Traveller or Tourist, situated as it is in
the centre of the city. Street cars passing every few minutes make it possible for the
stranger to reach any point of interest. It is a hotel of sixty rooms, all new and very
finely furnished in the most up-to-date manner ; in fact the proprietors have done
their best to prove that only the finest and best of furniture will prove a success. The
Rotunda, on the ist floor, and the two staircases leading from it form one of the handsomest furnished rooms in hotel accommodation anywhere west of Toronto. TWO SUITES OF ROOMS, KING EDWARD HOTEL.
TN THE King Edward bedroom suites comfort combined with luxury reign in the
highest degree. No expense has been spared to cater for every possible want.
Anybody who wants a comfortable suite in a central location, at a moderate figure,
should engage it here. TWO SUITES OF ROOMS, KING EDWARD HOTEL.
CHOWING how well these rooms are arranged for the Tourist or wearied Commercial
^ man, as every room has hot and cold water and baths in connection, making it the
only hotel in Victoria that at present is so arranged.
The King Edward Hotel opened its doors to the public the ist day of March, this
year. Rates from $2.00 per day and upwards. To those making prolonged visits special
rates will be given. Same management as Vernon and Dallas Hotels. VIEWS AT BEACON HILL PARK.
"DEACON HILL PARK is a fine undulating pleasure-ground of 300 acres of
■*""' wood and meadow, with lakes of artificial beauty, the chief of which is Good,
acre lake, in the centre of the park. There is also a fine collection of animals and
birds, in suitable quarters, which, with the fish ponds full of carp and golden fish,
fountains throwing rainbow sprays in mid-air, and the towering firs and royal oaks
make a picture once seen never forgotten.

VIEWS NEAR SHAWNIGAN LAKE AND GOLDSTREAM.
/
'T'HIS pretty lake affords a pleasant excursion for tourists in the summer. The
views both at the lake itself and on the way are well worth the short railroad
journey of less than two hours. The fishing there is excellent and the visitor may
always be certain of good sport. THORPE & COMPANY

WEILER BROS.
THE LEADING
HOUSE FURNISHERS
OF WESTERN CANADA
THE business carried on by Weiler Bros, is
certainly the largest in the fast-growing
West. The handsome building at the corner of Government and Broughton streets would
do credit to a much larger city than Victoria,
and yet the capacity of this modern structure is
not sufficient to meet the increasing demand for
more room. The six floors are replete with
goods from the leading manufacturers of the
world, and the display can only be equalled in
the large cities of the East.
The " King Edward" hotel was furnished
throughout by Weiler Bros , who deserve much
credit for their splendid work. The "Rotunda"
is deserving of special mention and but indicates
the ability of the firm to carry out efficiently the
largest of orders.
