Report from a select committee of the House of Representatives, on the overland emigration route from Minnesota to British Oregon. With an appendix

Description

"Report: p. [3]-6. Appendix 1: Proceedings of public meetings held at St. Paul, Minnesota . .. July, A.D. 1858 [p. 9-38]. Appendix 2: Particulars of the gold discovery on Frazer and Thompson rivers, and of emigration thither [po 39-47]. The report of the committee was in response to resolutions of certain citizens of St. Paul on the subject of emigration to British Columbia. Some of the eight appendices form testimony as to the superiority of a route to the gold fields via the Red River and Saskatchewan valleys. The report also appeared as an appendix to the Minnesota Journals of the Senate and House for the session 1857-8." -- Lowther, B. J., & Laing, M. (1968).
