The form and material are narrative and interpretive of two closely related poems in Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience-Little Boy Lost Father, father, where are you going O do not walk so fast Speak father, speak to your little boy Or else I shall be lost The night was dark, no father was there The child was wet with dew The mire was deep and the child did weep And away the vapour flew Little Boy Found The little boy lost in the lonely fen Led by the wand'ring light Began to cry but God ever nigh Appeared as his father in white He kissed the child and by the hand led And to his mother brought Who in sorrow pale, thro' the lonely dale Her little boy weeping sought The orchestra: Piccolo 2 C Flutes 2 Oboes 1 English Horn 3 Bb Clarinets 2 Bassoons 1 Contrabassoon 4 F Horns 3 C Trumpets 3 Trombones 1 Tuba Timpani Percussion: Bass Drum Chimes Suspended Cymabl Tam-Tam Harp 1 st Violins (to divide in 4) 2nd Violins (to divide in 3) Violas (to divide in 2) Cellos (to divide in 2) Basses Conductor Score in C To Kaylee Burnett Little Boy Lost for Large Orchestra based on two poems by William Blake Jeff Toyne Piccolo Flute 1-2 Oboe 1 -2 English Horn Bb Clarinet 1 Bb Clarinet 2-3 Bassoon 1-2 E Contra bassoon Horn in F 1 -2 Horn in F 3-4 Trumpet in C 1 Trumpet in C 2-3 Trombone 1 Trombone 2-3 Tuba Timpani \imes, Bass Drum, n-Tam, Sus.
