Yip So Man Wat Memorial Lecture - The Culture of Hong Kong in the 1950s Leung, Ping-kwan

Webcast sponsored by the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre and hosted by the department of Asian Studies. Leung Ping-kwan is a highly prolific poet, novelist, cultural critic, and multimedia artist. He has published eleven volumes of poetry and the award-winning Halfway a novel, and four collections of short stories among them Islands and Continents, Postcards from Prague, and Postcolonial Affairs of Food and the Heart. As Chair Professor of Comparative Literature at Lingnan University, he has also published extensively on Hong Kong literature and culture. His recent research on the film culture of Hong Kong in the 1950s forms the basis of this year's Wat Lecture.
