Description

Bang Khun Thian (โรงเจมหาโพธิสัตว์กวนอิม) (菩薩壇) is a three-winged Guanyin (觀音) temple in Bangkok, Thailand. The temple houses both Buddhist and Daoist deities, even though the main altar is dedicated to Guanyin. The following images show the Naga (พญานาค) (那伽) altar in the left corner of the Bang Khun Thian temple (โรงเจมหาโพธิสัตว์กวนอิม) (菩薩壇) entranceway. Image 01 shows an overview. In front of the Naga statue there is a small golden censer and a water offering. In Thailand, Naga is called Phaya Nak (พญานาค), and it is the national symbol/mythological creature of Thailand (from November 2022). Image 02 shows the perspective of the Naga altar relative to the temple entranceway. Metadata created and compiled by: Kira Johansen.
