Description

Inlaid Stone Tablets in the Northern Wall of the Main Hall in Tuṣita Temple (Doushuai si 兜率寺). The title of the inscription is "The Sutra of Forty-two Sections Spoken by the Buddha". Seven stone boards are inlaid on the east side, measuring a total of 192 cm high and 373 cm long. Eight stone boards are inlaid on the west end, measuring a total of 192 cm high and 386 cm long. Each character's diameter is 4.5 cm. The date reads "司礼监太监冯保书”名款、万历丁丑 (Written by eunuch Feng Bao of the Institute in charge of Ritual Ceremony, year Dingchou during the reign of Wanli, 1577)."
