Description
Mural Paintings in Cloud Ladder Abbey (Yunti an 雲梯庵), constructed during Wanli emperor's (萬曆) reign (r.1572-1620). Both east and west walls of the temple are decorated with mural paintings of five Bodhisattvas and multicolored auspicious clouds. Although the murals have been severely damaged, the exquisiteness of the original paintings can still be observed from the remaining fragments. The technique of gelled patterning and gilding "lifen duijin 瀝粉堆金" was used in some parts of the paintings.
