Description

The buddha figure is the first statue on left side inside the main entrance of the Pavilion of Expressing Sympathy for Loyal Officials (Minzhong ge 憫忠閣) of the Fayuan Temple (Fayuan si 法源寺) in Beijing 北京. The introduction states that it was built in the ninth year of Yonghui 永徽 in the Tang 唐 Dynasty (650). The full height of the statue is 76cm, the lotus pedestal is 15cm high, the base column is 28cm high and 18cm wide. Image 01 shows the whole statue, Image 02 shows the facial features of the Buddha, and Image 03 to 05 show different sides of the base column.
