Sculpture in the Pavilion of Expressing Sympathy for Loyal Officials (Minzhong ge 憫忠閣), Fayuan Temple (法源寺). This is a sculpture in the Pavilion of Expressing Sympathy for Loyal Officials (Minzhong ge 憫忠閣). The height of the whole sculpture is 133cm. Image 01 and Image 02 show the whole sculpture from the front and the left side, respectively. The main parts of it are a buddha and two figures flanking the left and right sides. The height of the buddha is 72cm, while the height of the flanking figures is 50cm. Image 03 shows the hand gestures of the buddha. The gesture on the left hand is called the Mudra of Wish Granting (Yuyuan yin 與願印), and the right one is Mudra of Bestowing Fearlessness (Shiwuwei yin 施無畏印). Image 05 to 07 show the situation of the base. The base is 72.5cm wide and 28 cm high. Image 08 shows the board of Minzhong ge. This sculpture was possibly built in the Northern Qi 北齊 (479-502).
