Description

Stupa from the second year of Jingyuan 景元 reign period of the Tang dynasty 唐, Yunju Temple (雲居寺). This is one of four Tang-era 唐 (618-907) stupas installed at four corners around a Liao-era 遼 (916-1125) pagoda. The side of the larger Liao pagoda can be seen in the first photo beside the Tang-era stupa (Image 01). The inside of the stupa, which contains a small image of a buddha flanked by bodhisattvas (Image 02). The side of the stupa with inscribed text (Image 03). Lower part measurements: width 84cm, depth 87cm, height 137cm. Upper part measurements: width 118cm, depth 118cm, height 170cm.
