Description

This niche is located in Beishan Rock Carvings (北山石刻), Fowan (佛灣), Dazu (大足) District, Chongqing. In the central wall, a bodhisattva in a double-collar drooping cassock is seated on a Sumeru throne with crossed legs. The bodhisattva wears a pretty headdress and a necklace with jades and pearls. The left hand is damaged, while the right hand holds the edge of a shawl. Each side wall contains a standing attendant image, dressing like an official with a flat sceptre in front of the chest.
