The twelve Enlightened Buddhas (Ch. Shi'er yuanjue pusa 十二圓覺菩薩), located underneath the reclining Buddha statue (Wofo 臥佛) at the Wofo yuan complex 臥佛院, Anyue xian 安岳縣, Sichuan sheng 四川省 in niches 7, 8, 10, and 13. The Mahāvairocana and Twelve Bodhisattvas of Complete Enlightenment (Ch. Shi'er yuanjue pusa 十二圓覺菩薩) are drawn from the The Sutra of Perfect Enlightment (Skt. Mahāvaipulya pūrṇabuddha-sūtra prasannārtha-sūtra, Ch. Yuanjue jing 圓覺經). In the text, twelve great Bodhisattvas, headed by Mañjuśrī (Ch. Wenshu pusa 文殊菩薩) and Samantabhadra (Ch. Puxian pusa 普賢菩薩), asked the Buddha clarifications on the the principles of Buddhism.
