The sutra pillar at Guandi Temple (關帝廟) Baycroft, Anne
Description
This sutra pillar is now found in the south part of the Guandi Temple (關帝廟). It was discovered during excavation of the East Pagoda remains and allegedly originally served as the base of the East Pagoda (東塔) in Chaoyang (朝陽) county. It is in the shape of an octagon and is dated to the sixth year of Kaitai Reign (開泰六年, 1017).
