Upper storey walls made of corrugated sheets Subedi, Prakash

Description

The government-approved house designs are either too expensive for the poor households and/or do not meet the household needs for space; hence, many house owners add additional floor by using lighter materials such as corrugated sheets for walls in place of masonry. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
