Repaired house without earthquake resistant features Suji, Manoj
Although the ground-floor walls of this house do not seem to have suffered significant damage in the 2015 earthquake, the reconstruction and repair have not incorporated any earthquake resistant features such as horizontal bands or supporting columns. Taken during the 2nd phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
