Description

The National Reconstruction Authority was established eight months after the 2015 earthquake to coordinate and oversee post-earthquake reconstruction and resettlement work through branches in all the earthquake-affected districts. However, this role has been challenging to achieve due to political instability, physical geography, and socio-economic conditions. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
