Temporary shelters Subedi, Prakash
Many of the temporary shelters built to provide emergency housing after the 2015 earthquake by their nature lack amenities such as water or toilets. Their long-term use indicates the failure of the reconstruction programme and perpetuates inequality as well. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
