Sunroof in a house Subedi, Prakash

Description

Windows represent the weak points in a dry mortar construction and so their size and installation is limited. People have resorted to using translucent corrugated sheets in the roofs to make the house interiors brighter. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
