Reconstructed house with shop fronts Suji, Manoj

Description

A quick reconstruction process after the damage caused by the 2015 earthquake would have ensured that people could get back to their normal lives earlier. This newly constructed house has shopfronts built so that there is some income that can be generated through the location of the house by the roadside. Taken during the 3rd phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
