Poster giving details of reconstruction work Limbu, Bina

Description

Many shattals (traditional rest houses) were destroyed in the 2015 earthquake. There have been attempts to rebuild them in the traditional style and by using traditional materials. A representative example is the reconstruction of the Kasthamandap in the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
