Temporary storage shed Suji, Manoj

Even when new houses are built following the 2015 earthquake, they do not necessarily meet the needs of a rural family, often due to a lack of funds or to new earthquake resistant building designs that do not take into account the space needs of rural families, and they are forced to continue with temporary sheds for their storage needs. Taken during the 1st phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
