Notice calling reconstruction grant beneficiaries to provide complete documentation Subedi, Prakash

Description

The Nepal government provided small grants to people whose houses had been damaged in the 2015 earthquake. This entailed a lengthy bureaucratic process of surveying needs and verifying documents like land ownership records, many of which had been lost in the earthquake. This notice from the Bhaktapur Municipality lists the names of beneficiaries whose grant contract application has been returned [rejected] because their paperwork or documentation did not match the requirements detailed by the Quake Affected Private House Reconstruction Grant Distribution Working Procedure 2016 (First Amendment). They have been asked to contact their ward office as early as possible. Taken during the 2nd phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
