Many public places are yet to be renovated or rebuilt, as funding priorities after the 2015 earthquake have focused elsewhere. This lack of maintenance and even disappearances of such public places leads to the loss of traditional ethos of the people as well as the places. Taken during the 2nd phase of fieldwork conducted by the research team based at Social Science Baha in Kathmandu, Nepal, as part of the SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, ‘Expertise, Labour and Mobility in Nepal’s Post-Conflict, Post-Disaster Reconstruction’.
