Description

This sūtra was found inside the seated image of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara inside the work (Sunch’ŏn Songgwangsa mokcho mok 順天松廣寺木造觀音菩薩坐像腹藏典籍). The Huayan jing helun (hwaom kyŏng hamnon華嚴經合論) is a combination of Li Tongxuan’s (李通玄, 635–730) treatise on the Avataṃsaka-sūtra in 80 Rolls and additions by Zhi Ningli (志寧釐). See Zhonghua dazang jing zongmulu《中華大藏經總目錄》卷3:「大方廣佛華嚴經合論一百二十卷 (唐實叉難陀譯經,李通玄論,志寧釐經合論并序,慧研序。附李長者事蹟,馬支纂。)」(CBETA, B35, no. 194, p. 301, a8-9). The calligraphy for the text was written by Yi Kwŏnsaeng (李權生, d.u.), Pak Munson (朴文孫, d.u.), Yu Yak (柳約, d.u.), and so forth, and the work of carving (chojo 雕造) was done by the Kwangju-mok (廣州牧) of Chŏllado (全羅道). This text was originally produced by the Directorate for Sūtra Publication edition (Kan’gyŏng togam pon 刊經都監本), Directorate for Sūtra Publication edition (Kan’gyŏng togam pon 刊經都監本), published in 1462 (Tianshun 天順 6).
