Description

The West Cave of the Xiaonanhai Grottoes is well preserved with delicate carvings. The shape of the cave is approximately in square, with the width of 1.4 meters, the depth of 1.8 meters, and the height of the cave is 1 meter. The arched door of the cave is decorated with lotus flower on the top; dragons, Garuda birds and two guards on the two sides of the outside door. A Buddha statue and two desciples were placed on the rear wall. Three statues of bodhisattvas and disciples were on the lefe and right walls in the cave. Figures of donors were carved on the left cliff outside the cave door.
