Description
The door of the East Cave at the Xiaonanhai Grottoes is partly destroyed. This cave is about 1.2 meters in width, 1.3 meters in depth and 1.7 meters in height. In the cave, a Buddha statue with two attendant bodhisattva statues were carved on the rear wall, and three bodhisattva statues were carved on both the east and west walls. Reliefs including various Buddhist images, such as bodhi trees, lotus pedestals, flying apsaras and donors, were carved surrounded with all the statues.
