The standing Bodhisattva with four attendants of the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577 A.D.) Zhang, Yi
Description
These boddhisattva and attendants statues were unearthed from the pit of Beiwu Village (Beiwuzhuang 北吳莊) in Handan, Hebei Province, in 2012. It is currently preserved at Yecheng Buddhist Statues Museum (鄴城佛造像博物館). All the figures were placed in front of a niche. The niche was decorated with two bohdi trees, gems, and flying apsaras, which represented a new Northern-Qi-Dnyasty style and the innovative carving technology of Buddhist art.
