Description
The Bronze Avalokitesvara statue was unearthed at southwest of the Shangliu Village (上柳村) in Handan, Hebei Province, in 1985. The Avalokitesvara held a lotus bud in its right hand and was decorated by a boat-shaped aureole with fire patterns. The statue was created in the 1st year of Wutai (武泰) during the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is currently preserved at Yecheng Buddhist Statues Museum (鄴城佛造像博物館).
