Description
The Avalokitesvara statue was unearthed from the pit of Beiwu Village (Beiwuzhuang 北吳莊) in Handan, Hebei Province, in 2012. It had two attendant bodhisattvas, reliefs of thinking bodhisattva, the list of donors, and a carved inscription on its backside. The statue was created in the 2nd year of Wuding (武定) during the Eastern Wei Dynasty. It is currently preserved at Yecheng Buddhist Statues Museum (鄴城佛造像博物館).
