Description

5 smaller grey stone stele located in front of the Hall of Avalokitesvara, located inside Zhenhai Temple. It was built in 1786 and houses a stupa with the relics of Changkya Rolpe Dorje. He was a Qing court Buddhist teacher, said to have overseen the translation of the Tibetan Buddhist Canon into Mongolian and Manchurian. The stele sit behind the Hall of Heavenly Kings and are written in Chinese and Mongolian script. Stele 1, Chinese and Mongolian [1359]. Closeup, top of stele 1, Chinense [1360].
