Ukraine’s Image Framing in the Narrative Battles of Russia-Ukraine War Zhabotynska, Svitlana
Description
This lecture shows how the biased version of the image of Ukraine manufactured by Russia and its allies can be exposed. It is argued that image construction employs numerous propaganda technologies related to the content, form, and function of the media narratives. Among the form-related technologies, a particular focus is metaphorical expressions shaping conceptual metaphors as powerful vectors of the worldview imposed on the audience.
