In these next two episodes Maddie and Nick discuss homelessness, starting today with research on why housing is important to health, and how encampments can be better supported to uphold human rights. In this second episode we talk about residential schools. For anyone listening, support is available for survivors and families from the Indian Residential School Survivors Society at 1-800-721-0066 or via their 24/7 crisis line at 1-866-925-4419. We also talk briefly about suicide. If you’re thinking about suicide, or are worried about a friend or loved one, the Canada Suicide Prevention Service is available 24/7 at 1-833-456-4566.
