Ibn Ashur's Qur'anic commentary (tafsir/تفسير (encompases his interpretations of all the suwar (سور (in the Qur'an. Although he had written a number of magazine articles in al-Majalla al-Zaytuniyya (الزيتونية المجلة (which included his work for the first couple of Qur'anic suwar from as early as 1936, the complete tafsir was published in 1984 and comprised a total of 30 volumes. It became one of the better-known tafasir of contemporary times and continues to be influential in the field of Qur'anic exegesis to date.
