Description

This dataset and R script illustrates potential uses of a bromeliad sampling protocol, as detailed in our article " A step-by-step protocol for surveying bromeliad micro-ecosystems and associated invertebrate communities". The dataset summarizes the aquatic macroinvertebrates sampled from tank bromeliads in 2019 (n=20), 2022 (n=10), and 2023 (n=21) at Pitilla Biological Station, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Specifically, we detail the abundance and species of invertebrates, their traits, and the characteristics of the sampled bromeliads. The R scripts compiles this data to enable analyses of four ecological patterns, each illustrated with a plot.
