[re]kindle : socio-ecologically resilient pyro-futures for the Okanagan Valley Boisvert, Chloe
Abstract
As wildfire events shift from a regular natural disturbance to a serious risk case for occupied territories in the WUI, surpassing most if not all firefighting capabilities, the need for greater resilience and improved connection to our ecosystems, both in the built form and social attitudes, is evident. [re]kindle explores the pyric landscapes and architectures of a speculative future where people and fire re-learn to coexist in the shifting edge of the Okanagan Valley’s wildland-urban interface regions.
