Description

Pair of vertical wooden plaques (Image 01 and Image 03) written in calligraphic script by Yinyuan Longqi (Jp. Ingen Ryūki) 隠元隆琦 (1592-1673), located on the right and left side of the main gate (Sanmon 三門/山門) of Manpukuji 萬福寺, an Ōbaku Zen (黄檗) temple in Uji 宇治, Kyoto prefecture 京都府, Japan. The plaque on the right reads: 地闢千秋日月山川同慶喜 (Image 02). The plaque on the left reads: 門開萬福人天龍象任登臨 (Image 03).
