Abstract
Population aging has become one of China’s most prominent social problems, especially in some rural areas where the elderly population continues to rise. The project centers on an agricultural site along a river in a typical aging village in southern China. It aims to connect village elders to their surroundings, social networks, and natural environment by utilizing therapeutic landscapes as a link, enabling them to feel more connected to their community. This community will offer horticultural therapy and recreational landscaping for the aging population while inspiring retirees The design attempts to provide recreational landscape and horticulture therapy for the elderly population in Cangxia Village, Fujian Province. The plan aims to create a welcoming and engaging space that fosters a sense of community and purpose among the elderly population in the area, promoting a higher quality of life for all.
