Nicolas Pereyra was a third-place finalist in the 2022 UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Nicolas presented their research, "Modified Platelet Storage Devices to Improve Quality During Storage." They hope to develop a storage solution for platelets to increase their current shelf life of just 6 days using current technology. Nicolas Pereyra is completing their Master’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The University of British Columbia in the Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Dana Devine.
