Identifying Mechanisms of Persistent Immune Dysfunction in Sepsis Survivors An, Andy

Description

Andy An, a UBC 3MT Finalist, presents their research on immune system deactivation in sepsis survivors, a process that often leads to re-hospitalization. By examining DNA methylation patterns in sepsis survivors, they hope to identify genes to target for treatments to prevent immune cell deactivation. Andy An is completing their MD/ PhD in Microbiology and Immunology under the supervision of Dr. Bob Hancock.
