Jennifer Ferris, UBC 3MT Runner Up, presents their research on the use of a specialized MRI process, diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), to monitor a form of brain damage called white matter hypersensitivities. With the use of DTI, changes in brain health and cognition could be detected earlier so that lifestyle modifications could utilized to help people live active and healthy lives in to their senior years. Jennifer Ferris is completing their PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Lara Boyd.
