Is prescription opioid use for chronic pain associated with higher mortality rates? Spooner, Luke
Abstract
With previous literature suggesting the association between opioid therapy and mortality, this paper aims to determine if this association is true and if opioids can be safely used at any dose for the treatment of chronic pain. To explore this, we will conducted a literature review to address the following question: to what extent is opioid use in chronic pain treatment associated with increased mortality?
