The Possibilities of Punjabi : Modern Punjabi Literature in India, Pakistan, and Beyond : [Interview with Surinder Rampuri] Murphy, Anne; Bhardwaj, Ajay

In this 2014 interview for Dr. Anne Murphy’s SSHRC-funded project “Transnational modern Punjabi literature and the pursuit of the secular,” Surinder Rampuri explores his attachment to writing. Rampuri expresses that when introduced to literature, the writer becomes entangled with the art. This idea is furthered by his involvement in writer's organizations/institutions such as Sabhas. Rampuri posits that the presence of support is necessary for both seasoned, and up-and-coming writers. In this regard, he discusses at length his personal attachments to home, writing and the Sabha. Interview by then-Ph.D. student Ajay Bhardwaj. Funded by SSHRC Insight Development (430-2013-000121) and Insight (435-2017-0406) Grants.
