Description
In this 2014 interview for Dr. Anne Murphy’s SSHRC-funded project “Transnational modern Punjabi literature and the pursuit of the secular,” Piara Singh Bhogal discusses reasons as to how Punjabi literature became popular. For example, he illustrates how the introduction of the printing press in Punjab allowed for a flourishing of literature to the masses. Moreover, he goes on to discuss the history behind his work, and how he came to be involved in the Punjabi literary circle. Interview by then-Ph.D. student Ajay Bhardwaj. Funded by SSHRC Insight Development (430-2013-000121) and Insight (435-2017-0406) Grants.
